Filtration principle of reverse osmosis Reverse osmosis is the process of applying a pressure greater than the osmotic pressure of the solution on the concentrated solution side, forcing water molecules to enter the dilute solution through the semi-permeable membrane in reverse (opposite to the natural osmosis direction). In the reverse osmosis process, water molecules on the concentrated solution side flow to the dilute solution through the semi-permeable membrane, but most solutes (soluble solids) cannot penetrate the membrane and are trapped. What is reverse osmotic pressure? Two solutions with concentration are separated by a semi-permeable Membrane. After a certain period of time, the solution with low concentration will move to the side with high concentration, and the water level difference is called' osmotic pressure'.
